Welcome Back Riverside Families!
Welcome to all of our new and returning families. We are so happy to be back with you again this year.
As always we create a warm welcoming environment that will allow your children to feel a true part of our school community. The staff at Riverside are working hard to set up the school and routines with the safety of your children at the forefront of our planning.
OUR SCHOOL DAY: The day begins at 8:55AM and ends at 3:15PM
ABSENCES/LATE ARRIVALS/EARLY PICKUPS
- Please email [email protected] if your child will be absent from school. Include your child(rens) name, classroom teacher and reason for absence (such as illness, appointment).
- If your child is going to be picked up early please let the office know, it must be prior to 2:45PM, please email [email protected] by 2:15PM. We will ensure that your child(ren) are ready for pick up at the front doors.
LUNCH/ RECESS
- “Boomerang” lunch – anything that comes to school, goes home each day.
- Please send a labeled water bottle. Drinking fountains and bottle filling stations are available throughout the school including our kindergarten hall.
- Dress for the weather – we will spend a lot of time outdoors for outdoor learning along with recess (even during rain).
OUTDOOR LEARNING
- Gym classes will be held both inside and outside – students will not be required to change into gym clothes.
- Dress for the weather every day – we will have significant outdoor learning, along with recess
STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP
- Students taking the bus will be dropped off at the front of the school and will make their way to their designated yard. Kindergarten students to grade 2 will be in the yard to the right of the school. Students in grade 3 to 8 will make their way to the field on the left hand side of the school. When the entry bell rings, the students will line up with their class, their teacher will meet them and bring them into the school.
- All pick ups will happen in the parking lot on the left, FOR ALL STUDENTS (K-8) from 3:15-3:30 PM
- Please note the left parking lot is not very large, given the number of parents/guardians that drop off and pick up children. This is why we have a window of time for pick up and drop off.
- Buses will be given the right of way at 3:20PM, we will stop all other traffic from coming in or out of the property. The first buses take about 5 mins to leave the property. Please plan for this.
