Dear Parents and Guardians of Riverside students in grades 1-8. There will be 2 cross country ski races held at Arrowhead Park this year. The first is on Friday February 9th. The second Race is Thursday March 7th.
We will be doing the sign up a little differently this year. Payment will open up on school cash online on Wednesday January 17 for both races. There will be 100 spaces for each race. Cost is $15 per race. You can register for one or both races. We are very fortunate to have equipment to lend out to most students but we need to keep it manageable for preparation beforehand and supervision the day of. Once we reach 100 students the online payment will no longer be available. Permission forms and ski waivers will then be given to the students who have paid.
Race # 1 Classic (Grades 1-8) Friday February 9th
Race # 2 Classic Grades 1-8, Freestyle Grades 5-8 (Students in grade 5-8 must choose which style they will ski for this race) Thursday March 7th
Races start at 11am. Grade 1/2 first then 3/4 , 5/6, 7/8. Race times are dependent on the number of racers in each race so I can’t give any more information in terms of when specific races will begin.
If you are able to successfully register your child and are able to help volunteer with supervision with our school please let me know! You will need to have a completed vulnerable sector check on file with the school. Spectators are welcome.
