Every year on September 30th, our school community wears orange to observe Orange Shirt Day and recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken away on her first day of residential school, this day provides an opportunity for us to honor Indigenous residential school survivors, remember those who were lost, and reaffirm our commitment to learning and reconciliation.
We invite all students, staff, and families to wear orange on September 30th as a visual symbol that Every Child Matters. We encourage families to use this day as a time to talk together about kindness, inclusion, and respecting one another.
