A safety message from our police partners

Cops Corner
Road safety includes being respectful of the
many bicyclists who use our roadways. The
OPP would like to remind motorists to “share
the road” and move over whenever it is safe to
do so.
Bicycle helmets are a vital part of safety and
should be worn by all riders. Bicyclists up
to the age of 18 are legally required to wear
a helmet when on a roadway and failure to
comply could result in a $70 ticket. Parents or
guardians who knowingly permit cyclists less
than sixteen years of age to ride without a
helmet may be fined as per section 104 of the
Highway Traffic Act. Stay safe – wear a helmet!
